Cupcheck Top Tube Bag
Cupcheck Top Tube Bag
The Cupcheck top tube bag's firm construction means it holds its shape and stays planted—no flopping, no thigh slaps, no annoyance, yet not so firm that it lives up to its name!
For the main pocket, a durable & smooth YKK molded-tooth zipper allows for easy one-handed access, keeping your refuel/song change hassle-free.
On the outside, Velcro patch panels let you add a personal touch with some embroidered patch designs, while a side zipper stash pocket keeps snack wrappers and nutrition trash separate from your main pocket.
Up front, a dedicated cable port gives you a clean path to charge cockpit electronics without opening the bag or compromising weather protection.
Looking for a Bolt on attachment? This bag is constructed with sturdy enough materials that it can readily be converted into a bolt on bag with a simple solder iron!

About
About
Originally, I set out to design this bag because of frustrating issues I encountered on the kokopelli trail & a 3-month mostly pure (singe-track) bike packing adventure across Europe in the summer of 2022!
The issues I had with the top tube bag I was using were as follows:
- Floppy design, wore holes in the sides of my 1 of 2 pairs of pants and hit my legs on every pedal stroke & bump wearing my frames paint and my patience!
- Not big enough for my phone
- No clean way to charge my battery/phone via my dynamo hub
- No padding on the bottom of the bag- the tools bouncing around damaged my top-tube over time as well
After considering my gripes and grinding out 23 painstaking design iterations on this bag, I was finally happy with the Cup-check top-tube bag's final form!
Why call it the Cup-Check?
Ill tell you! In Lyons Colorado, there is this one section of a trail called Bitter Brush that I, without fail, always go over the bars (OTB) & rack myself on the top-tube/stem. When I was testing this bag for mountain biking and expectedly went OTB, the top-tube bag I spent so long designing sure saved me another racking, earning its name "The Cup-check" top-tube bag!
